The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers. (Nhat Hanh)
Frühling ist wiedergekommen. Die Erde
ist wie ein Kind, das Gedichte weiß; … Rainer Maria RilkeSpring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems. … ~Rainer Maria Rilke
“A ship in a port is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.” (Grace Murray Hopper)
Ships
It was beautiful not despite but because of the friction it has had to endure. It had been thrashed around, but instead of being destroyed, it was improved with every scratch and scrape, sculpted. In fact, the scuffs themselves are what gave it its quiet splendor; they are responsible for turning a simple piece of glass (which could have just as easily been trash) into a gem. (Wendy Blackburn)
Path
“There is not one set path in life. Don’t be afraid to walk your own path, to follow your heart and passions. This is your life to create.” – Avina Celeste
Live a balanced life – learn some and
think some and draw and paint and sing and
dance and play and work every day some. (Robert Fulghum)
“We were made to enjoy music, to enjoy beautiful sunsets, to enjoy looking at the billows of the sea and to be thrilled with a rose that is bedecked with dew… Human beings are actually created for the transcendent, for the sublime, for the beautiful, for the truthful… and all of us are given the task of trying to make this world a little more hospitable to these beautiful things.”
― Desmond Tutu
